Called in for back up

I was at a birthday party when another doula called me for a last minute backup since she couldn't attend the birth.

Mamma has a history of delivering babies fast and so I made sure to meet her prior active labor.

Got to her house, she was coping so well with the contractions being 8 min apart, and suddently she started changing her behaviour, moaning was louder, her eyes were trying to stay close, she was getting tired from the intensity of things, when she said she was feeling pressure. Pressure during contractions is a sign that baby is close, but pressure in between contractions too indicate that baby is coming and it's go time!

We headed to the hospital that was 5min away from her house, got her in triage right away and the obgy on call checked her, she was fully dialated, but they told her to try and not to push untill we could get her in the room.

It was just a matter of minutes till she got transfered (in bed since walking is no longer safe at this point), got in the room and she wanted to stand up, first contraction after that we heard her saying "someone please catch the baby". She was pushing and coudn't control it anymore.

Her midwife hasn't make it yet to the hospital, but the ob on call manage to help her deliver her baby safe! She quickly moved to the bed and delivery her baby on all fours. Everyone is doing well.
